Greece beach wedding photography – that time I got to run away to the Athenian Riviera. I feel warm just thinking about it.
Vickie and I go back. WAAAY back.
Further, if I’m honest, than I’d really rather admit. Picture us, if you will, as wee skinny things of 11 or 12 in our blue felted scalloped hats with acorn bobbleybits. We met at boarding school and so it was wonderful to be able to be with her for her wedding to Lef.
I love a Greek wedding. I love the light, the food and the way that, unlike in the UK, it stays warm well into the evening.
Lef’s family is local which meant that lots of his extended family could attend. It also make setting up easier as there was somewhere to store all of the bits and bobs that make a wedding go along.
Before the wedding Vickie, her sister, her neice and I sloped off to Mykonos for a day or two which is a photo story all of its own. (As an aside, I’ll always but up for a hen-night somewhere hot and sunny. But I digress).
Flowers turned out to be a bit of a sticking point in the planning aas it was incredibly hot and most wouldn’t have survived the heat. They decided to run with artificial ones, and to for-go the bouquet. One bonus being that they could be reused in the future. Likewise, real candles were out. Especially as the wedding day was bracketed by wild fires surrounding the venue.
