Simone and Mike – a gothic woodland wedding
We’re off to the woods today for Simone and Mike’s utterly wonderful (if rainy) gothic handfasting wedding with ALL THE WITCHY VIBES.
I mean, that cake table? There was even a crow skull cake topper that rather perfectly matches my necklace. And the pommel of a sword, dripping with crytals, forming the base of Simone’s bouquet. The magnificent metal rose arch was wrough by none other than the groom himself. Clever chappy.
The ceremony was conducted to the music of the Lord of the Rings (or possibly The Hobbit. Should really write more notes) with Simone and Mike’s dog Bilbo Baggins in attendance. There was all the wild dancing and a quiet walk through the rainy woods to shoot some portraits.
There was also SO MUCH RAIN – so much so that my second photographer’s camera packed up (that was a proper heart stopping moment) but there were also open fires (hugely needed by all). I was astonished to be able to see my own breath during a July wedding. Bonkers!
It really was an absolute treat to be able to capture this wedding. My inner witchy goth was beyond delighted – even if it was too muddy to wear my trusty Doc Martens
