AUSTIN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
So something completely unusual today as we’re off to the States for the Texan/Cornish/Nigerian wedding on Anna and Moyo.
Anna and I worked together in an office maybe 15 years ago, and for a while we lived in neighbouring villages.
Life eventually drew Anna back to the land of her father and to Austin, Texas where ultimately she and Moyo met.
They incorporated elements from both of their backgrounds – flashes of Cornish tartan and jumping over a broom from Anna’s native cornwall. A West African feast, feather fans, a money dance and geles were some of the Nigerian elements.
It was a two day affair – the first saw an Anglican church ceremony at the church of Anna’s forebears, the second a dance filled celebration reception at The Distribution Hall in dwntown Austin.
It was an absolute treat and delight to be there with Anna and Moyo along with their family and friends. I often marvel at and and am very grateful for the sheer variety of the weddings I get to witness and to be part of.
In all of these celebrations of love, there is that tangible reminder that amidst life’s chaos, love remains the constant, guiding light—a beacon of hope and a reason to believe in the beauty of forever.
